Fall Prevention in Long-Term Care
Reduce fall risk and protect residents through safer routines, better awareness, and timely response.
Overview
Falls are one of the most common—and preventable—injuries in long-term care. This course helps staff recognize fall risks, take proactive steps to reduce them, and respond properly when a fall occurs. Through real-world LTC scenarios, learners build awareness around common triggers, mobility challenges, and prevention strategies that support a safer environment for every resident.
  1. Built for LTC risks: Focuses on real-life resident routines, not generic hazards.
  2. Prevention-first mindset: Spot risks before they lead to a fall.
  3. Support every resident: Learn how to adapt care based on mobility, cognition, and routine.
Reduce Falls, Increase Awareness
  1. Recognize common fall hazards within rooms, hallways, and bathrooms.
  2. Understand how mobility, medications, and routines contribute to risk.
  3. Practice safe transfers and ambulation techniques.
  4. Know what to do after a fall, including who to notify and how to document.
