Diabetes
This unique program takes the overwhelming amount of information available to diabetics and makes it fun and manageable. Interactive scenarios provide information on basic medication use, hypo & hyperglycemia management, carbohydrate planning through a virtual grocery store, and much more. The users can use this program as a reference and revisit for both questions and refresher. A key feature of the program is creating scenarios where the user begins to develop basic critical thinking skills, such as when is a blood glucose dangerous and what to do to counter the danger. Preventative techniques are emphasized so daily living activities are simplified. Activities such as exercise, food selection and recognizing common diabetes complications are included in the scenarios. Through interactivity, the program is both informative and enjoyable creating a learning experience better than traditional techniques.
Program Objectives
  1. Gain an simple understanding of the different types of diabetes, including Type 1 and Type 2.
  2. Learn to identify the symptoms of diabetes.
  3. Understand the potential complications of diabetes if it is not managed effectively.
