Sepsis

This program addresses one of the biggest public health issues facing the country. Sepsis is the leading cause of death in hospitals, but over 80% of sepsis occurs before the person even gets to the hospital. Preventing sepsis starts by understanding sepsis begins with an infection. Interactive scenarios are provided that help the user understand and prevent infections that can lead to sepsis. The goal is to teach the learner early signs of sepsis and methods of prevention. The user will navigate what abnormal physical signs mean, such as a change in heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature and behavior. Sepsis cannot be cured, but it can be avoided. Avoiding sepsis comes through prevention of infections. The goal of this program is to educate everyone about how to prevent infections as well as the recognition and prevention of sepsis. Learning how to prevent sepsis is not hard and can be learned by everyone.
